I'm a digital nomad originally from Mumbai, India, working as a senior front-end engineer at Headout. I've been involved in many open-source projects and have actively participated in programs like Google Summer of Code. I've previously built large global open-source communities like halogenOS and Cynthesize and have helped host many hackathons here in India. I do my best work when working with ambitious, mission-driven teams.

🎒 Experience

Senior Frontend Engineer @ Headout

December 2019 - Present

• Design systems & React Native Web

  Shipping projects 4x faster, saving engineering bandwidth, design system

  Leaded in bringing React Native Web to Headout which made shipping projects 4x faster and needed fewer engineers per project. After this, we were able to ship Web, Android and iOS platform projects from one single source. Built a lot of tooling surrounding us adopting react-native-web. Also collaborated with the design and UX engineering team to build Headout’s design system library - Aer, in React Native Web.

• Infra & Major Refactors

  Codemods, ASTs, AMP, SEO, Next.js, React Native migration, upgrades and CI

  Introduced Codemod to the Headout frontend and dived heavily into ASTs. Saved us 100s of hours in engineering bandwidth that would’ve gone into manual refactoring. Built the AMP infra for Headout leading to a major boost in SEO and page views. Helped in migrating our manually written SSR to Next.js. Also migrated majority of the App flows to React Native from native Swift and Kotlin screens. Designed and managed CI and semantic releases for web and apps. Upgraded React Native to newer versions.

• Business Projects

  Combos, IA, manage booking, tickets, help sections

  Shipped Combos which resulted in an increase of bookings per city. Revamped our category information architecture which enabled seamless discovery and easier navigation for top of the funnel users. Built payments on apps and integrated Checkout.com’s SDK. Shipped Manage Booking, Tickets and Help sections with React Native Web making instant booking changes possible which previously required manual chat intervention before.

• Hiring & Mentorship

  Hackout, hiring, evangelism, mentoring

  Leaded in hosting 3 international hackathons at Headout which boosted Headout’s engineering brand and hiring across all engineering, design and data roles. Have been an active part of talent and hiring processes at Headout. I’m also an evangelist for Headout on Twitter which has helped us in having a stellar internship program and improved our talent brand. Have been a mentor to our new joiners and helped in onboarding and setting timelines.

Google Summer of Code @ Rocket.Chat

May 2020 - Aug 2020

Worked with the Rocket.Chat global frontend team to deliver a new feature for audio messages. The goal of this project was to bring the audio recording capabilities and the music player of the Rocket.Chat to modern standards and improve user experience.

Co-founder and Engineering @ Sudodevs (Product Studio/Startup)

May 2019 - June 2021

Formed a Product Studio to deliver versatile software solutions to startups and businesses, helping them go from idea to MVP with our team of designers, engineers, and PMs.

I was instrumental in owning the engineering backlog of incoming projects till handover.

Key projects:

• JioGlass: Collaborated with game developers and an art director to ship a Virtual Reality game for the upcoming launch of Jio's flagship VR headset.

• Kossetcare: Crafted a custom checkout and subscription experience for the E-commerce marketplace which provides sanitary health solutions for women. Currently in production with 1000+ MAUs.

• Core-X: Developed a guest engagement platform for the hospitality sector to improve the experience of checking in and out of the property as well as availing various amenities offered by the hotel. The project was modelled as a B2B SaaS for property owners bundled with a PWA for their guests.

• Winglr: Designed and developed a location-based dating app that involved using in-app currency to communicate with users at a particular venue.

Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (Govt.)

April 2020 - May 2020

Developed a low latency streaming utility for MCGM COVID-19 War rooms to monitor containment zones in their ward. The tool simplified the process of handling multiple CCTV cameras by aggregating all sources in an accessible admin panel. This project involved continuous communication with the on-ground technical team, MCGM health commissioners as well as the police department.

• Strategic Lead @ Google Developer Student Club, RAIT

  Delivered multiple sessions on workflow automation, DevOps, Entrepreneurship, and Engineering to a community of over 700 students.
